Harvey Milk

Anita Jane Bryant.
Anita Jane Bryant are born in 1940n in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. She had a career as an American singer. She was against homosexuality and were known for her strong views against it.

Why does Milk talk about the rain.
I Think that he mention it because he will tell the people that gays are not bad. He tells that Anita in her prayer she blame the gays for the problem with the drought. Then he tells that when he(a gay) got elected it started raining and it had rained since.
He says that god do not have a problem with gays and that they do not have anything to do with the drought.

What does Milk think about the medias.

He think that it is a shame that the medias can control and change people’s opinion. He think that they have too much power and that people should try to have their own opinion without any influence from the medias.

What does Milk think about dialogue.
Milk think that dialogue are a very good thing. He think that the best way to change people’s view on the world. He thinks that dialogue are the way to change the world.

What is the different between a gay and a friend of a gay.
I understand it like the friend of a gay do not know hove it is to be slated by other people. So it is hard for him to support his gay friend.

What the gays should be judged upon.
He want people to judge gays by their personality and not all the myths there are about them. They should be judged as everybody else.
Because they are people as you and me and it are not fair to judge them out form their sexuality.

Why do people need Hope.
People need something to believe in.

Proposition 8

I would vote no to proposition 8. Nobody shall decide who there should love each other. I think that it is up to each couple, same-sex or not, to decide if they will marriage or not. I think that the homepage are overdoing the answers. It sounds like that you are destroying the world as we know it if you vote no.
I do not say that if you vote NO, we have to teach children in same-sex marriages. Opposite-sex marriages will still be the most normal type of marriages. Same-sex marriages are just another opportunity for people who have fallen in love with a human of same-sexuality.

YES: If you vote yes at proposition 8 you will make sure same-sex marriages not will be a respected part of California’s law system. You will protect the old values in families. A husband with his wife and their children.

NO: If you vote no to proposition you will destroy the thing we know as a family. You will let teachers teach your children to be gays.

The govern in California are voteing No on prop 8.
Republivan California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that although he opposed and twice vetoed legislative bills that would recognize same sex marriage in California, he respects and will uphold the court's ruling and opposes the initiative and other attempts to amend the state's constitution.

Marry our daugther

I think that it is disgusting that some people sell their children. I cannot see how parents can set a price on their children. How can anybody set the price on a life. I cannot say anything else then I despise it.

Some parents might do it to give their children a better live. For example if the family are really poor. Out from the text other parents just do it to get some money so they can effort a new car or something like that.

"Marriage is a Private Afair" Summary

The text are about a young man named Nnaemeka. He has fallen in love with a girl named Nene. Nnaemeka comes from a very believing tribe and in that tribe the parents chose who their son are going to marriage. Nnaemeka leaves the tribe because he want to live with Nene. His father says that he does not have a son anymore. Times goes and Nene and Nnaemeka gets two sons. That sons want to see their grandfather and Nene write a letter to Nnaemeka’s father where she asks permission to let her children meat their grandfather. She offer that she can stay home if he don not want her in his house.

Letter for Nnaemeka

Dear son.
I have been a fool. I forgot what life is about and focused on what other people mean we should live our life. In all these years have I lived in contempt to that man who once was my child. I have never mentioned you for anybody even for your mother.
Dear son. For all that am I sorry. Sorry about my behavior for you and your wife. But now am I begging you, my son and your wife, for mercy. Let us start over. Let us be a family again. I cannot pretend that I am angry on you anymore. Actually am I proud of you. You did what I always wished to do. You walked towards the rules for you love. You did take the risk.
Dear son. I am so proud of you.

The History of same-sex marriages

Denmark was the first country to legitimize civil union in 1989. They could not get married but they were registered as a couple.
In 1993 Norway also legitimized civil union. Two years later Sweden also legitimized civil union. In 1996 Iceland did same. And again after two years in 1998 Netherland legitimized civil unions. France was just after Netherland and I 1999 civil unions.
Nether land was the first land to legitimize same-sex marriages. That happened in 2000. In 2001 same-sex couples in Netherland were allowed to make an adoption.
In 2001 a lot of countries legitimized civil unions. The countries was Finland, Germany and Portugal.
The first same-sex couples got married in USA in 2001.
In the time from 2002 – 2009 lands are expanding their rules for same-sex marriages. In 2006 it is legal for same sex couples to get married in South Africa.

Question:
1 it surprise me that civil union are legal in South Africa.

2 I think that same-sex marriage should be legal as opposite-sex marriages. I do not think that it matter anything if it are two men or women instead of a man and a woman. If they love each other they should have the ability to marriage each other.

3 In Middle east are the hardest punishment agents I think that it is because they are so religious.

Same-sex marriage

The difference between a civil union and a marriage.
  • A marriage takes place in a Church. In the Church you say yes in front of god.
  • A Civil union are when a couple get marriage in the town hall.

My personal oppinion about same-sex marriages.

Same-sex marriages are fine to me. If people fall in love with a person of same sexuality I think they should have the rights to marriages each other. Some people find that it is disgusting when for example two men falls in love with each other. I do not agree. I do not think that two men should marriage each other, but if people have another view on the case it is fine with me.

Marriage is a private afair

1 Nnaemeka's problem is that he is engaged with Nene. The problem with that are that his father has found another girl he should marriage. The father will not speak with Nnaemeka because he resists to follow his order.

2 I think that the reason for that Nene cannot see the problem are that she come from a tribe who do not believe in a god and they might not have the same rules in the tribe.

3 Nnaemeka’s father are a very believing man. He want things to be like they always has been and he will not let his son marriage a women who not believe in there good.

4 When Nnaemeka marriage Nene his farther reacts like his son is dead. He does not writhe or speak to him and when Nnaemeka writhes to him he says that he cannot let him in to his house.

5 When Nene writhes the letter to Nnaemeka’s father does he understand that even if his son not has behaved like he might wished he still is his son. At last he agree to see his grandchildren.
